Apps disappearing after iOS 26 update due to restrictions on iPhone

Hello everyone,

My dad sets restrictions on my phone making it so that I have time limits for certain apps such as Instagram and TikTok. In addition, there are also restrictions that prohibit my phone from having 18+ apps. However, after updating my IPhone 13 to IOS 26, the apps have disappeared from my phone and it says that I must ask parents to exempt the restriction despite having it previously downloaded on my phone??? I keep resetting my phone and one minute its there, the next it isn't. Does anybody have any input?

My daughter and I had the same problem. It seems to me that age restrictions are being enforced more strictly after the update to iOS 26.

I had to change the age restriction for apps under "Screen Time" -> "Restrictions" from 12+ to the next level (17+). Then my daughter was able to use WhatsApp, Instragram, Snapchat on her phone after the update again.

I have a related issue that's slightly different. I am a parent and have a Family designated on my iphone that include 3 children profiles with different age-related restrictions. I am the only one that has installed iOS 26. Once installed, some key apps disappeared (of the ones that I am aware of) like X, MyChart (health), and Tumblr. I am sure there are a few others that I am not aware of. When I got to the App Store, I can find the app in question and see the "update" button. However, the update button is greyed out and there is a message that states: "This app can't be downloaded because content restrictions are enabled on your device." The content restrictions are not for me, they are on my children's profiles....and I do not share apps with my family. I have one into each one of their profiles and toggled the "Content & Privacy Restrictions" to off and restarted my phone. Still my apps are gone and I receive the same update error. I am perplexed why the content restrictions for the child profiles I control on my account/phone are prohibiting apps/content from downloading/updating on my personal phone.

Hello, I updated my phone maybe around early last month and it had not worked, if it was a software issue then it should’ve been fixed by now. But Apple really needs to fix it. It’s really irritating me and it’s making me have to restart my phone and start it back up just to use apps that my parents already let me use. Like what?! They let me have it for a reason? Apple fix this please!! I want to be able to use my apps without it kicking me out mid call!!!
