Carplay issues after iOS 26 update

My phone installed iOS26 overnight yesterday. Now Carplay is not functioning correctly. It was working fine the day before, during a long three hour drive. However, on todays return journey if I try to send a message the system offers to message someone/something called HGU? I do not see a list of contacts to send too? If I speak a name to Siri, I still get offered HGU?

Anyone else having problems with carplay after installing iOS26?

My issue is no matter if I use wired or wireless for carplay, My calls breakup. The person I'm calling is telling me that they can only hear every other word. But when I use the Bluetooth side of my car, they can hear me just fine. I have tried an Apple usb c to usb c cable and a Beats cable. I have the iPhone Air and I drive a 2026 Chevy Equinox. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you

Randomly connects and disconnects from CarPlay. iPhone 17 pro and iOS 26. Happens in both wireless and wired (usb-c to usb-c) mode.
