The new iOS update, what can I do?
I’ve been using my iPhone 13 Pro Max for years without any major problems. The battery lasted well, performance was smooth, and the only repair I ever needed was for a cracked camera. Similarly, my laptop from the COVID-19 era has held up and been reliable.
As a student, I regularly update my devices because my school requires the latest software for exams. However, this most recent update has been very different from previous ones. Since updating, my phone has become noticeably glitchy, the battery drains quickly, and performance feels significantly slower. It even overheats at times, which wasn’t happening before.
What’s most concerning is the sudden battery health drop. Just a week before updating, my phone reported a healthy battery status. After the update, the system now shows 75% capacity and recommends replacement. This kind of sharp decline right after an update feels unusual and discouraging, especially for users who are no longer covered by AppleCare.
I’d like to ask Apple: will there be support options for customers experiencing these issues after the update? Many of us rely heavily on our devices for school and work, and it would help to know how Apple plans to assist those affected.
