Error saving Pages file on Mac OS 26, issue has persisted for several years

I can't save a Pages file. When I try to save it on the Desktop, Documents, anywhere on my drives I get the attached error message. The one place it allows me to save or move it to is iCloud Drive/Pages folder. I am on Mac OS 26 (Tahoe), but I've had this problem for several years in some form spanning several operating systems. There are all sorts of people on the forums here experiencing similar things, some with suggestions, but none of the suggested fixes work for me.

The fixes involved checking permissions, etc. I've done this, and I've been trying this... Again... For years.

Enough is enough. Please, Apple, can you do something about this?

I'm experiencing similar problems with Numbers, BTW, but there's no point me making a separate post about that.
