How can I download an older version of Final Cut Pro for macOS Catalina?

Hello,

I recently purchased Final Cut Pro with my Apple ID. On my modern Mac running macOS Tahoe the app works, but important features I need have been removed. FireWire support is no longer available in macOS Tahoe, and in the updated Final Cut Pro the Create Archive button no longer works for tape-based cameras.

Because of this, I would like to install Final Cut Pro on my older MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) running macOS Catalina 10.15, which still supports FireWire.

When I try to download Final Cut Pro from the App Store on that Mac, I only get the message that macOS 15.6 or later is required. I don’t see the option to “download the last compatible version”.

My questions are:

  • Is there any way to download Final Cut Pro from the App Store using my purchase?
  • If not, can Apple provide access to that version, given that I own a license?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Giovanni
