Apple Podcasts linked but not playing through Echo Dot

I followed the steps to link Apple Podcasts to my daughter's echo dot. I even made it the default podcast. However, when I ask the echo to play a podcast from Apple Podcasts, it repeatedly says "I can't do that".

Any advice?
