What exactly do you mean by "placing a a document on your iPad screen"?

The Home Screen, where all your apps are, cannot hold documents directly, only apps and widgets.

Documents are stored in apps, like the Files app, and can be opened in other apps like Pages or Numbers or even the new Preview App.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

You can set up a shortcut yes, to open a specific file in the files app for instance and then place it as a widget on the home screen. Is that what you are trying to do?

Please explain clearly and in as much detail as possible what you are trying to do.

I am here again thank you very much for the help. The question I have is how does one lear of the new features in a new release. I had no idea sharer was a called preview or an app for shortcuts. . also I have been having a Lot off trouble when so,omg the screen. My old iPad which ˆ am still using uses three fingers to zoom and unsoom . I finally found out on the internet that I am supposed to double tap.

I wonder what else I don;t know and how to find out the new features on my iPad and on mybmac mini
