FaceTime and Phone app both open on FaceTime call on MacOS 26

Starting with macos26, when I make a FaceTime call from my Macbook to a person from my contacts list, at some point both the FaceTime app and the "new" Phone app both open for the call. So I then have two apps, and consequently two icons in the Dock, open for a single, simple FaceTime call. If I quit either of the two apps, the call gets ended. Why is that? Prior to macos 26, this wasn't the case, I had only the FaceTime app open for a FaceTime call, not two apps.

So in this case, as I said, I'm not attempting to make a cellular call using my iPhone from my Macbook, I am just making a FaceTime call from my Macbook as I did before macos 26....
