Syncing from PC to mini IPad6 caused all the music to disappear.

When I first tried to add the new music, all the art work and albums were mixed up so followed directions from apple support community and googled the steps for troubleshooting. Tried resyncing it but that resulted in wiping out all the music on my iPad. Then couldn’t get iTunes to sync again.
