Can't burn songs that I have purchased on iTunes

Why can't I burn songs that I have purchased on iTunes? I never had a problem in the past. If I can't burn the music to a cd, what's the purpose of buying the songs. Yes, I still have a vehicle that has a cd player, so I'd like to listen to my cds other that just on my pc.
