Is there any way to keep Tahoe from automatically resizing windows?

I'm fussy about my desktop and now Tahoe keeps automatically resizing windows. I have them sized the way I like, but now the windows automatically resize to full screen. I resize the window and then it resizes itself again. Is there a way to make the windows remain at the size I like?
