Connecting iTunes on Mac to external drive's library without importing tracks

I have moved my itunes folder to an external drive.

How do I connect itunes on my mac to the library on the external drive without having to imprt the tracks to itunes n the internal drive? (The itunes folder is too big for the internal mac drive)
