Camcorder no longer recognized since upgrading to Tahoe

I have been digitizing old High-8 and DV video tapes for the last few weeks. Both Quicktime and iMovie recognized the connection of my camcorder so I could select that as a media input device. Since upgrading to Tahoe a few days ago, the camcorder is no longer recognized. When I switch to an older Mac, everything works fine, so the problem is not with the cable or the camcorder. If anyone has experienced anything similar, or has a solution, I would be very grateful for your input.
