Camera on iPhone 13 shaky on 1x after iOS 26.0.1 update

So i just updated my device to the latest software version which was ios 26, so i noticed my camera on 1x being shaky and so i thought maybe it was just a bug or my camera lens was blurry, and so After i received the latest update which is ios 26.0.1 i updated it to see if the issue was fixed, but no im still facing the same issue where the camera on 1x is shaky and it also does it on video, 3rd party apps. I have an Iphone 13.

You just described a possible hardware failure that occurred just after a software update.

While this is unfortunate, it is not uncommon.

First, try ➢ this helpful guide for a possible solution.

If that doesn’t help, then Force your iPhone to restart:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (this might take longer than 10 seconds).

If that didn’t help, then I recommend service.

If it’s shaking when using various apps, it’s less likely software and more likely hardware. The two most common issues would be trying to focus closer to an object/subject than the lens was designed. The other option would be a hardware failure in the 1X camera module.

You need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.

I have the same issue. I’ve tried all the settings and restart methods to no avail. I’ve got a service booked in tomorrow via Apple (phone under Apple care warranty when I logged the issue).

Ive been using another camera app as an alternative, which isn’t as simple as the native app but is a workaround until Apple fixes it.

Yes, Its the native camera app, I recently got notified about the nee software update which is 26.1.1 but im still having doubts if it fixed the issue about the camera or not, Also no it is not an Induced damage since I didn’t drop the device nor got it exposed on some liquid. I really can’t provide a screenshot of the issue because it only occurs on some scenarios for example like when i focus on something that not quite far but not also too near, the camera shakes on all 1x platforms including 3rd party apps as well such as instagram and facebook.

the update doesn’t also indicate that it fixes this kind of issue nor there are any details about fixing this kind of issue and im sure the iphone 13 (the phone I have) is not the only model that has this issue.

Im down to my last resort to perform a factory data reset but unless i can confirm that this is indeed a software issue I might just have to wait for the next major update of the OS. 😕😕

I still have this same issue (shaky/ camera on the 1x and 3x cameras) despite being patient and waiting for iOS 26.2. I ca literally feel the camera module vibrating when it happens making me believe it’s something to do with the optical stabilization. I thought they’d have fixed the bug with this new update and I’ve already tried every suggested fix online. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, but even if it’s no longer the best of the best in 2025, this shouldn’t be happening. Seems to be a minor bug that Apple can honestly fix and push an update for in less than a day if they wanted to. I’ll still upgrade in 2026 but it shouldn’t be forced by making the user experience awful on older devices.

Please read my post on this subject. If the same issue presents when a third party camera app accesses the camera module, it’s almost certainly a hardware issue. The fix would be replacing the defective module.
