Ethernet shows connected but cannot get sites

I discovered after installing a new fiber service (replacing a different fiber service) that though my ethernet showed my computer was online, I am unable to download anything from any site. I renewed DCHP, turned everything on and off, moved the ethernet cable to from the modem/router to two different hubs. Everything works fine using wireless, it is just slower.
