Apple has taken a simple thing, syncing music from iPhone to MAC and made it complicated. I have been on apple support and every instruct is not useful because it’s wrong for my phone or there is no setting to change.
I have a iPhone 13 with Tahoe 186.2 loaded and a Macbook air with Tahoe 26.0.1 I have tried your support nothing worked. Can someone simply explain how to do it with settings that actually exist?

From what I can see when you connect your phone in the music app (i-tunes) and then click on the phone in the sidebar the normal synch button that comes up (which now says "synch settings") doesn't work.
If however you right click your phone and select "synch" it does synch, it just doesn't show you it is doing it unless you go into the finder and click on your phone and then you will see it working how it used to do.
There are so many bugs with music in Tahoe... its really annoying as it used to work so well before.

I have had the same issue since updating iOS 26 every time I try to sync or go to settings and highlight sync it gives me an error message and turns off sync again not sure exactly why or what is causing this but all I have left to try is delete the app on my MacBook Air then reinstall it and see what happens
