Missing bootcamp option after upgrading to macOS 15.6.1 - fixed

So this was something that happened to me a few months ago, and it seemed I might have to re-install bootcamp after losing my Win11 version following an upgrade to macOS 15.6.1. It turns out that as the bootcamp partition was still there, and as far as I could tell all the files were in place, all I had to do was reset my security options (via restart using command-R) on booting back to none/unsafe as the upgrade to macOS had reset the T2 security options on my mac-mini. Now holding down option on startup gives me back the ability to either go to macOS or Win11.

I recently got a 2015 4K iMac and ran into the same issue unfortunately. The problems began with the fact that the bootcamp assistant was unable to download the support files so I had to download these from the apple website and manually added them in the root of my WindowsInstall USB. (bootcamp did properly copy the regular Windows installation files to it)

Try resetting nvram and smc. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need another Mac to create a bootable macOS installer on a USB thumb drive. Boot the installer (by holding the option key) and use disk utility to ‘repair’ your existing macOS partition. There are step by step instructions online for performing the above tasks.

Run the "Apple software update" - install the new Bootcamp that will come with the update. Restart and Viola, your Mac OS partition will show up.

Press “option” when you see the screen turning on. In the boot picker chose EFi and then macOS. And you’re done !
