I am currently using ios 18.7.1 on iPhone 13 pro max and bought the new AirPods Pro 3, but seems like it is never updating to the latest firmware. Anyone have a solution for that other than updating my phone to the latest version?

Seems iPhone with the newest OS version is necessary, and you aren't ready to install that yet.
You could just be patient and wait?

Else: If you can borrow an iPhone with iOS 26.0.1:
Leave AirPods connected to power overnight with the iPhone connected to wi-fi close by,
so they can update automatically
Else: see if you can update the AirPods firmware on a Mac that is using the newest MacOS 26.0.1 update.
The firmware should update much quicker on a Mac.
