Can I send texts from my MacBook Pro to non-iPhone users?

I have had a **** of a time getting texts from my laptop to non-iphone users. Seems like we are being punished for having friends and family members without iPhones.

Since MacBooks do not have cellular modems they rely on an iPhone to forward SMS/RCS text messages. You cannot send a text message to non-iPhone users on your MacBook without the assistance of an iPhone.

So do you have an iPhone signed into the same network and Apple Account as your MacBook. Check the following settings.

On your iPhone->Settings->Apps->Messages->Text Message Forwarding->select your MacBook

iPhone->Apps->Messages->Send as Text message ON

Also make sure RCS messaging and MMS Messaging are both ON

Send a message on Mac - Apple Support

iPhone Text Message Forwarding security - Apple Support

And could you please cease with the conspiracy theory about being punished by Apple. Knowledge is better than ranting.
