MacBook Air will not log in after OS update
I just updated my OS and cannot get past the log in screen. It goes black after entering my password. I checked my Cap lock and it is not on…please help!!!

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if that makes any difference.
Try connecting an external display to see if you have successfully logged in. I have seen this issue occur with M-series laptops when the laptop's built-in Display Assembly has a hardware issue.
What version of macOS are you using?
Is Filevault enabled?
