Apple Stocks won’t keep SEV in a list

Aptera just IPOed this week with stock ticker symbol “SEV,” and I wanted to follow it in my “EVs” list, but it keeps disappearing.

Sometimes, I’ll add it, and the checkmark will immediately disappear. Other times, I can see it in the list, but when I get back to the widget view, it’s gone.

Happens on iOS and MacOS.

I borrowed my wife’s phone, which is running iOS 26, to see if the bug still existed in that version of iOS—yep!

I created a new list, added SEV to it, added a few other stocks to it—things seemed to be going better than on my phone.

Until I closed Stocks and re-opened it—SEV was no longer in the list.

I didn’t play with it for long, though—maybe it would have disappeared at other times, too, if I’d exercised more features.

My guess is that their storage API is validating stock symbols to save in a way that doesn’t work for SEV, so that once the app tries to store the symbol, it fails.

So this is still happening, and SEV is no longer super new—other, newer stocks can be added to lists with no problem.

One really odd note is that the news blurbs under “More data from Yahoo Finance” that are shown for SEV aren’t related to Aptera at all. Instead, they’re all for Sono Group, N.V,

You’d think that would mean that Yahoo didn’t know about SEV, but that isn’t the case:
