Low battery warning for mouse
I used to get a warning when my mouse battery level got low. This no longer happens. Is there a way to turn the warning back on or did Apple simply do away with it?
Mac mini, macOS 15.6

Provided this is a Apple Magic Mouse 2, the threshold for a low battery condition used to be set at less than 10% remaining, and I believe it may have been around 2%. Currently, for macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 and Sequoia 15.7.1, the low battery percentage (and where the notification will occur) is set at 6% for the Apple mouse and keyboard.
ioreg -r -l -k "BatteryPercent" | egrep -io '("LowBatteryNotificationPercentage"|"BatteryPercent") = \d+'
Periodically, I review the Bluetooth icon in my menu extras panel to see what the reported charge level is for my Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, and when it is powered on, my Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones. When the mouse dips below 30%, I connect it to a charger overnight while I sleep and never exhaust the mouse charge.

Actually I found a possible solution using GeekTool.
Showing Bluetooth Battery Percentage On Your Desktop
Thanks for the suggestion! I will look into this.
You could always add the Status Widget to the Desktop. It's pretty hard to miss…
I'm running macOS 15.7 (Sequoia), and I get low battery warnings when my Magic Mouse's battery charge gets low. As far as I can tell, there is no way to turn these notifications on or off. I haven't kept track of how often the Mac will repeat a warning if you ignore it the first time.
The Magic Mouse 1 took AA batteries and the Magic Mouse 2 is only rechargeable. The charge in the Magic Mouse 2 should last you a week of heavy usage and likely longer. Perhaps you schedule to recharge it overnight on Sunday evening by a Calendar reminder?
One would have to remember to activate the widget display in the same manner as remembering to click the Bluetooth icon in the menu extras bar to observe the percentage. Scheduling an overnight mouse recharge every Sun evening would always ensure mouse charge throughout the interim week.
I'm not sure what that means. You can have the widget permanently on the Desktop.

Based upon the user by-line " Mac mini, macOS 15.6 "
Is this a hypothetical situation or a really situation as the Mac Mini runs of electrical power from the wall socket
My M4 MBA with macOS 26.01, when running off of battery power, will present a warning once the power from the battery gets too low

The OP wrote "mouse battery", so I presume that the reference is to the battery in a Magic Mouse.

Yup and good catch

Wrote that reply while only my 1 of 3 cups of java, before breakfast
That said, still do not get a Mouse Battery warning on Magic Mouse version 2
Yes, this is an Apple Magic Mouse. (I'm not entirely certain of which version, but believe it is a Magic Mouse 2.) I also try to occasionally review the power levels under the Bluetooth icon on the menu bar, but I definitely forget from time to time and end up surprised and (initially) confused when my mouse suddenly stops working.
I also did not know that the low battery level warnings could be turned on or off; and in fact do not remember ever turning it off (at least not intentionally). However, a few months ago I simply stopped receiving the warnings and my mouse now runs out of power and dies unexpectedly. I have scoured System Settings looking for a way to turn it back on, but to no avail.

How do you place the widget on the desktop? When I add it, it automatically goes into the Notification Center.
EDIT:
I just discovered how to do it. Simply drag the widget from the Notification Center onto the desktop!
While this approach would solve my problem of not knowing when my mouse battery is about to die, it is such a large and unsightly widget, I would rather not have it on my desktop.
Yes, that's correct. It's a Magic Mouse.
The Magic Mouse 1 took AA batteries and the Magic Mouse 2 is only rechargeable.
In that case, I definitely have a Magic Mouse 2.
