On Reddit: Another user with a Mac Studio reports that the progress bar froze around ~15% after login, then after a while the system returned to the login screen; eventually it booted after several attempts

If we may add

It is very odd, the computer would eventually boot specifically to the Apple Support Community but then who knows why ?

Part 1 of 2 – Safe Mode Troubleshooting

Booting into Safe Mode prevents third-party software, extensions, and drivers from loading. It starts your Mac with only the minimum essential Apple system processes, which may result in reduced performance.

Please check whether the issue still occurs in Safe Mode.

Sometimes, simply starting in Safe Mode and then rebooting normally can resolve the issue.

If the issue persists after returning to a normal boot, the problem could be specific to the main user account. To further isolate it:

  1. Create a new user account (System Preferences > Users & Groups).
  2. Log out of your main account.
  3. Log into the newly created dummy account.
  4. Test again to see if the issue still occurs.
  • If the issue is not present in the dummy account, it’s likely something within your main user environment.
  • If the issue is present in the dummy account, it points to a system-wide issue.

Part 2 of 2 – Deeper Diagnosis with EtreCheck

To avoid back-and-forth troubleshooting, consider downloading EtreCheck — a trusted diagnostic tool developed specifically for Macs.

  • Download directly from the official developer’s site.
  • EtreCheck is not a "silver bullet", but it provides a detailed overview of your Mac’s hardware and software environment.
  • It makes no changes to your system.
  • There is a free version, with optional paid features.
  • The report does not contain any personal information.
