How to disable tiling so all windows are large

My workflow requires me to have multiple windows simultaneously open and visible so I can easily take data from the "satellite" windows to the main window which I am working in. Upgrading to Tahoe killed this feature. I tried tiling, but that is inflexible and requires the use of preset window sizes (and it's complicated to set up for all windows) but mine are far more individual than that, with sometimes 8 or more windows or portions of windows open concurrently. How do I revert to pre-Tahoe individuality? It's driving me nuts!

Mac Studio, macOS 26.0

Read through the following:

Manage windows on your Mac - Apple Support

Move and arrange app windows on Mac - Apple Support

View open windows and spaces in Mission Control on Mac - Apple Support

Personally, I have multiple large app windows open on each of several desktops, they are manually sized and manually 'tiled'. I use Command-` to switch between windows within an app, Command-Tab to switch between apps. I sometimes also use Mission Control to see and select specific windows.

Example of the 6 Safari windows I have open on this desktop:

Mission Control for these 6 Safari windows:

Note that I do not use Stage Manager (which I suspect you might have enabled based on your other post). If it's on, try turning it off in System Settings > Desktop & Dock.
