Suspicious 'automated queries' warning on Google Scholar

I am trying to visit google.scholar and it’s telling me the below.

We're sorry...

... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

i have cleared browser history and looked for anything suspicious to no avail. Help please … thank you

For assistance with accessing Google services, contact Google Support.


Google has seemingly been losing the plan for a while now, with various sorts of issues arising over there.


Here, it may simply be iCloud+ Private Relay is making it more difficult for Google to track you. Or there is some other factor related to your client or your connection. But we don’t know why a Google-implemented check is failing, nor is Google seemingly likely to describe why you’re being blocked.


I’m currently able to access Google Scholar with Private Relay enabled too, so that is clearly not a hard block.


Nor is this malware.
