Safari Becomes Unresponsive After macOS 26 Update

Since updating to macOS 26.0.1 (25A362), I’ve noticed that Safari becomes noticeably slower and eventually unresponsive after about 5–10 minutes of use.

I’ve already tried disabling all extensions (previously, I was only using AdGuard Pro), but the issue persists. Websites such as ChatGPT, YouTube, and my personal site (GrahamMiranda.com) load partially, then hang on a white screen for about 30 seconds before finally opening.

My internet connection is not the issue — I’m on a fiber line with 1 Gbps up/down, 8 ms ping to 8.8.8.8, and 0% packet loss.

Firefox and Chrome both work flawlessly, but I’d prefer to continue using Safari.

Is anyone else experiencing this after the 26.0.1 update, or does anyone have suggestions for resolving it?

Update: My Ram, CPU and Disk IOPS are all under control. Nothing Spikes. I have 10GB Free RAM. CPU are always under 10% and Disk almost no activity

I see the same/similar thing: two sites I use frequently, Yahoo Finance and Facebook, sometimes get "stuck" in the page loading phase. In the address bar, I see the 'x' but it's unresponsive). The only "fix" is to close the tab and try again. I reported it during the beta but still see it - actually seemingly worse actually - in 26.1. I'm waiting for the first 26.2 beta to see if anything's better now. It's quite annoying.

Related to this, maybe, is that links on these pages sometimes don't do anything. Again, the only solution is to close the tab and try again.
