The Brother MFC-J480DW is an AirPrint-enabled model, so printing should work without additional drivers.

Check that the printer and the MacBook Air are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

Is it possible to print from an iPhone/iPad?

If necessary, you may want to try a full power-cycle sequence (do not forget the Wi-Fi router):

  • Power off the router, the printer, the MacBook Air, any iPhones/iPads, and all other devices/computers connected to the network.
  • Wait two to three minutes.
  • Power on the router.
  • Wait a minute or two.
  • Power on the printer.
  • Wait a minute or two.
  • Power on the MacBook Air, any iPhones/iPads, and all other devices/computers.
