Sound balance for AirPods Pro is missing on macOS

I can adjust the sound balance for my AirPods Pro (2 & 3) on my iPhone. I used to do the same on macOS, but today I noticed that when I select my AirPods from the sound menu, the balance slider is gone. The slider still appears when I select the MacBook’s built-in speakers.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.0

If you haven't already: You might try updating to MacOS 26.1, to see if that helps.

If needed check for available updates: Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Updates.

Reminder: It is always wise to back-up Mac before updating th MacOS version
