FontD blocks all CPU power

As a designer I have more than 5000 fonts installed on Mac OS. I cannot use Apple Mail, Keynote or any other native app. Everything is extremely slow and I cannot even upload files in Mail, making it impossible to send a simple email.

I'm using Typeface to manage my fonts, since Font Book can't handle anything.

When is Apple doing something about this? Using a M4 pro chip should help me forward, not backwards. Any suggestions how to solve this? (Not de-installing fonts ;) )

This problem occurs with the current Tahoe OS, and the previous one

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 26.1
