Numbers: a green oval has appeared on my table/spreadsheet which i urgently need to delete

hello

i have urgent work on a table and this green framed oval has appeared which i need to delete before i can continue.

i assume it is a cell action of some type due to the green outline but cannot get rid of it to continue my table of figures.

please HELP !
