Apple music stops playing when minimised

Just in the last few days, Apple music stops playing when minimised or I switch to another app. Had recently installed Classical, have removed it but problem remains. Background refresh is enabled. Not on low battery. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Music a few times. Have restarted iPad multiple times. Nothing seems to work. On iOS 17.7.10. iPad Pro 10.5 inch model MQDY2X/A. Any suggestions welcome, thanks. Have switched to Amazon music in the meantime
