Tahoe does not allow eject external drives by right click on mouse

I have just taken delivery of a MacBook Pro 16" and updated to Tahoe OS. How do I use a mouse to eject a drive such as an external drive?

Apple seem to think it is OK to make important changes such as this without flagging it to customers.

You can secondary-click on the drive icon (control-click, two finger click) and select Eject from the contextual menu.

You can also click the drive and drag it to the Trash icon in the Dock, which then changes to an Eject symbol and when you 'drop' the drive there it is ejected.

Not sure what change you think was made to the process, it works as it always has. In addition to the above methods, others are listed here:

Connect and use other storage devices with Mac - Apple Support

You might also want to check System Settings > Mouse for how you have secondary click set up.
