Increase Font Size on External Display / Monitor

I have a MacBook Pro M1 on a LG 42” external monitor.

The system font in Safari is just about impossible to read. Is there really no way for Apple to make available larger system fonts for people using external non-Apple monitors?

Asking users to select a lower resolution is not an answer. It’s completely ridiculous.

If that is a 4K monitor, it has pixel density and text sizes similar to those of a 27” 2560x1440 monitor.

Assuming that you select Retina resolutions and not “(low resolution)” ones (which would normally be hidden away), any Displays Settings resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, or greater, that you pick is going to use all of the 4K resolution of that monitor. In Retina modes, Macs draw on internal canvases that have twice as many pixels in each direction as the nominal Displsys Settings resolution.
