Quick Look in Finder always resets volume to max — super annoying for editors
Hey everyone,
I’ve noticed something quite frustrating in macOS (Tahoe 26.0.1) Quick Look (the feature you trigger with Spacebar in Finder). Whenever I preview a video or audio file, the playback volume always resets to maximum.
As someone who works with media files daily, this can be pretty annoying — especially when you just want a quick listen without blowing your ears off.
It would make so much sense if macOS remembered the last set Quick Look volume (like most media players do) instead of resetting it every single time.
Is anyone else facing this?
Do you know if there’s a workaround, or is this just how Apple designed it?
