How to reset Keychain access password on Mac?

I cannot access 'keychain access' because I don't know its password. I have tried my Apple ID password and the one I use to log on to my computer. (I actually wish I could eliminate the password need every time I use the computer after its been resting. I live alone and no one else has access to my computer. )

Is there a way to reset all this stuff? Also, my Keychain Access is "On this Mac" instead of in the utilities. I don't know if that is part of the problem.
