Apple Calendar auto-adjusts appointment time

I live in Oregon and Arizona and I frequently travel between the two locations. When I get a call from a doctor's office (for example) in Oregon to make an appointment while I am in Arizona, I simply open my calendar and enter the appointment time. When I get to Oregon, Calendar on my MacBook Pro has adjusted the time to take into account the time difference between the two states and since Arizona doesn't do DST, I'm often left completely confused about the correct time for the appointment. The only way to fix this appears to be to type the time into the title of the appointment, but why is this hard??? I'm not setting up meetings for multiple people across different time zones. I simply want a calendar that saves what I type into it. Why in the world can't Apple provide an option that says, "Ignore Time Zones"? Yes, I know that there are a numerous options in the calendar to try to deal with this but NONE of them work in every case! JUST IGNORE THE TIME ZONE so that entered times don't get changed--EVER. How hard is that?
