USB-C chargers keep breaking

If you remove the connector from the socket by pulling on the wiring, the wiring will break.

Some of the Apple and Anker woven-wrapped cables are a bit more robust here, but those too will break when the connector is pulled from the socket by the wire.

Remove the plug from the socket by pulling on the connector, and not pulling on the flexible wiring.

If you’re hard on cables, a MagSafe charging stand or MagSafe dock might be a good alternative. Using the MagSafe charging puck with a stand (or dock) means you’re pulling on the phone and the stand (or dock), and not on the cable. (I’d not use the MagSafe charging puck alone, as that’s still wiring that can be pulled.)

What are the parts involved here?

• The power supply (sometimes called the charger) is the thing at the other end of the USB cable from the iPhone, and is the piece that commonly plugs directly into a wall power socket. It’ll usually be a power supply with a small rounded-ends USB-C connector for recent gear, though an older rectangular-connector USB-A charger can work.
• The cable, which is usually a USB-C to USB-C charging cable these days, though the older rectangular USB-A connectors and cabling can be used in some configurations.
• The iPhone you’re charging.

As stated in the replies above…

Bad power socket, bad grid power including sags and surges and spikes, bad USB-C cable, bad power supply or bad power supply design or bad build, debris in the USB-C socket, bad connected device, a power socket that is connected via a wall switch, not much to go on here.

If the power supplies were acquired from an online seller or sketchy retail seller, between counterfeit products and just bad designs that are all widely available, who knows what was purchased here.

Bring the USB-C cable and the apparently-bad power supply into Apple Store, and try there.

never had one break, nor their lightning adapter cables really

when ever you disconnect a cable (of any type really) be sure that you pull the plastic connector only

and not just yank the wire (people who do that break cables pretty quickly)

By “charger” do you mean the power source, or the cable?

If you mean the power source immediately contact an electrician to check out your house wiring; there is something dangerously wrong with it.

By stop working, you mean they just no longer make the iPad charge, or they actually break and fray and rip apart?

Of the cable just stops making the iPad charge but is otherwise undamaged, check the iPad's port for any debris, dust or lint that may be blocking the connection.

Cable's unless of very dubious quality do not just simply stop working for no reason.

Also, if there's a short or power issue, it may trip the breaker, and cause the wall sockets to stop working until the breaker is recycled or turned back on.

I have a total of around 50, accumulated over the past 25 years, 30 pin, Lightning and now USB-C. Only a couple of them ever broke, and one was my fault and the other was a cat’s fault.

If you treat a cable as a piece of delicate electronics and done abuse it by pulling on the wire rather than the connector (just as you should for wires that plug into the wall) it will last forever.

Without seeing what you're doing, it's hard to know what it is that's causing this. Also, what, precisely, do you mean by "broken?" Are they not working? Or are they physically falling apart?

Are these all Apple-branded chargers? Or are they various brands? If they are Apple-branded, they have a one-year warranty. Did you take them back to Apple?

Are you always using them in the same place?

I second this wholeheartedly. Without any context or details its hard to offer any advise.

With that said, I don't think I've had any Apple charger break on me in any way.

I still have a 10watt charger from a 2010 original iPad.

My current chargers both Apple and 3rd party (usually stick to Anker or Ugreen) are all over 3 years old at this point. The Mac charger that came with the MacBook Air is 5 years old like the Mac and still works fine.
