Folio Smart Keyboard and Bulgarian layout on iPad Pro

I have an iPad Pro 11 4th Gen (2022) and I use it with the official Apple Smart Keyboard Folio with several layouts. For some unknown to me reason the “Bulgarian qwerty” and “Bulgarian standard” layouts are the same from the folio. If i check the “standard” layout and display it on the screen it is mapped correctly - i.e. J is with T, F is with O and S is with Я from the Bulgarian, but when I start typing from the Folio it types in qwerty (or rather its phonetic replacement).

I touch type and this is why i got the folio in first place alas….

Please help.

Go to settings > keyboard > hardware keyboard > Bulgarian and tap over at the right edge. You will get a list of mappings. Make sure Bulgarian Standard is checked.

Done that number of times, updated software, ticked, unticked.
It is correct on the display layout (touch version) and when I start typing on the keyboard it types different (in qwerty).;

Very odd — I’ve not heard of a case where the hardware setting was not honored. Are your settings just like mine shown below? Are you on ios26? If not, can you update?
