Stopping Unwanted Email Notifications:
Create Rules and Filters:
Who is your eMail Provider? Visit their web site on how to create filters. You can do so with certain scenarios.
i.e. when sender's name is: "Johnny Appleseed" and title contains: "buy now" move to "trash". Being in Trash, this will filter it from within the eMail account itself, and thereby avoiding these notifications from showing up.
