Find My does not work on my MacBook, but works on my iPhone

Find My doesn't work on my Macbook. Airtags haven't been seen in over a month. It works as expected on my iPhone. What can cause this and how can I fix it? I have all the latest software.

I don't know what caused it, but signing out of iCloud on your MacBook and signing in again would be justified in an effort to fix whatever is wrong. It's the iCloud equivalent of "turn it off and on again".
