YouTube full screen not working with iPad on safari

On iPad YouTube cannot be full screen without seeing the progress play bar.

How to just get it to full screen mode on safari?

i refuse to download the YouTube app for privacy reasons and I believe apple should just make it so I can easily watch videos in 2025 without having to resort to help pages.
