Safari only allows me to move back one page at a time when I press the "show previous page" button.
Sometimes I know exactly where I want to go but this can be slow.
Is there a way to get a list of previous pages and select one of them, not the most recent?

Sure, you can see all of your past pages by clicking 'History' on the top toolbar (assuming you're not using Private Browsing).
If you just want to see past pages from the current window you've been browsing in, click and hold the back button until a small menu pops up, then mouse over one of the pages (still holding down the mouse button) and release it over the one you wish to go back to.
