MacOS Sequoia 15.7.2 (Mac Mini 3.2Ghz, 6-Core Intel i7)

HP Envy 120 Printer/scanner

Happens both on MacOS Image Capture and with HP Easy Scan

Have restarted computer, printer (unplugged printer as well)

Have Removed and added back Printer

Checked Privacy/Local Network/HP all toggled ON. (HP Easy Scan, HP Scanner 3, HP Device Monitor, HP)

Appreciate any advice.

That looks more like a malfunction with the HP scan imager, than a problem with Image Capture or the HP Scan-ware.

1) do a test scan using the printers copy function.

2) do a test scan from a different Mac or PC.

3) check with HP for a firmware update.

If using TWAIN and Image Capture app and using AirPrint both gets a corrupted scan, it’s quite possible the scanner or its firmware has failed.

The HP website also send folks off into some dark and twisty parts of the HO website for docs and firmware too, as the main selector only shows Linux and Windows.

Here is the generic HP firmware update info: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

I’d try updating the firmware with the embedded web server here, if this printer offers that feature. I can’t tell that from what I’ve seen in the posted HP doc.

This printer is from 2012 or so, based on the documentation copyright dates. Given it’s from roughly 2012 and the scanner is seemingly malfunctioning, I wouldn’t expect much from any firmware update.
