Please Help me stop ie completely remove my personal hotspot from my MacBook Air!

My MacBook Air keeps trying to connect to my iPhone personal hotspot and I can't stop it. When it does this constantly I loose wifi connection. I have disabled the personal hotspot, this does not stop it.. Please Help me stop ie completely remove my personal hotspot from my MacBook Air!

On your iPhone:

Settings > Personal Hotspot > OFF

On your Mac:

System Settings... > WiFi

Remove your hotspot from Known Networks by clicking ⋯⃝ to the right of the hotspot name and Forget This Network...

I have tried all that you suggested. The hotspot is off and does not have the option to remove it in the drop down box.
