Siri won't play playlists on Apple devices

ios 26 siri won’t play playlist if I try to do it from my watch it acts like it’s going to play something and then doesn’t play anything at all. It just shows me the play button but when I press it, it doesn’t play the playlist I requested it plays random music that’s on my phone but will not play the playlist. The same thing when I use my phone to try to play a playlist it won’t play it. It’ll play random music usually Christmas music that’s not even on my phone.It does the same thing with CarPlay. It will play random music from my phone, but will not play the playlist that I requested. I’ve reset Siri on all devices. I’ve turned them off. I’ve turned them on and they have the latest updates.

I have the exact same problem. To be specific, no matter what playlist I ask for, Siri just plays the first song, alphabetically, in my music library. I DO NOT use any subscription service. My songs and playlists are all purchased and downloaded on to my iphone through iTunes.

I thought maybe it was because the car was in motion and access to all the songs/playlists is restricted, but even with the car stopped, Siri does not play the proper playlist. Oddly when i ask for a playlist, Siri recognizes it and says "Playing playlist <whatever it is called>, but does not play it.

If I tap the playlist on my own on the screen while the car is stopped, no problem, it works fine.

Help with this would be appreciated! Seems like a programming flaw.

I have an iphone 14 running ios 18.7.1
