Spam emails from my own email account to me!

This is a very strange one. I'm good at blocking, deleting and reporting phishing and fraudulent emails. But this is different. I've twice now had emails to me, from my Mac.com email address, with the old line about installing trojan software and watching me watching dodgy stuff and recording it. A load of nonsense. It freaked me out that they could send from my email address, so I changed my password and have 2 step authentication. But today I got another one. How do I stop this? All help gratefully received!

It was not actually sent from your account, the sending address is just spoofed like is normally done from any spam email. You are correct it is nonsense and previously those emails were known as the "Hey Pervert" scam by the way it addressed you. You just need to delete them and for most they don't continue once they determine you don't fall for their tricks. Changing your email address is an option, but does not mean you will never get any such email again.

You are on a list that will keep growing and it is because of som site that got hacked and they netted your email address. I see in the header of emails that shows that I am the sender but at the same time if I block it then I am blocking myself.

The best way to get around this is create a new email address and move everything you want from the that one to the new email address and either leave the old going or delete it.
