Journal app typing latency increases with entry length

Typing in the Journal app gets slower the more I type. This happens on all of my devices: iPhone, iPad, Macbook Pro, etc.

Over time, there is a noticeable latency between pushing a keyboard button and seeing the character appear in the window.

Does anyone else run into this problem? It's after a few paragraphs of text. I don't have a good metric at this time to share for when it becomes problematic.
