You seem to have missed something when looking at the page:

Features of Big Beamer Transmitter Wireless AAC Switch:

  • 30-foot range with no pointing necessary
  • Long battery life with built-in sleep mode
  • Multiple Switch tops included: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue
  • Requires the Original Wireless Receiver
  • Unique wireless codes eliminate cross-talk between devices

Read the part where it states original wireless receiver is required.

it is designed to only work with their equipment.

Let me explain. I am an Assistive Technology Specialist.

I am trying to find a way for an eye gaze user with an IOS communication device to activate a PowerLink. The PowerLink is being used to turn on an adaptive PE device to launch a ball in gym class. The user can not activate a switch, due to their disability, hence the eye gaze IOS device.

I was just wondering if there was an interface anyone knew about to make the Beamer work with an Ipad, as I know it can be paired wirelessly to the PowerLink already.

I need a device that can interface with the Ipad eye gaze device and the PowerLink simultaneously. The internet says it is possible with a Blue2 wireless switch but I cant find the interface to do it. and I quote, "You will need an external switch interface with both Bluetooth and a wired connection. This adapter will connect to the Blue2 via Bluetooth and then transmit the switch signal to the PowerLink through a wired connection."

I am planning to try a Tecla switch interface, but currently don't have a cord to attach it to the PowerLink. I did order something I will be trying out.

You will unlikely find anyone here who has any experience with this device. What you need to do is contact Ablenet directly. I'm fairly positive you'll find they don't have any support for iPad at all.

You are probably right that this forum won't be able to help me. I just wanted to give it a shot. Ablenet does have IOS compatible devices like the Blue2 wireless switch I mentioned above. I have contacted Ablenet but the person who responded was not very knowledgeable about what I want to achieve. Assistive Technology is a field where we explore and figure out how to use tech in creative ways for our disabled clients. I'm sure there is a way. Eye Gaze is still developing, so not as many experts out there yet...no worries...I'll figure it out. Thank you and everyone for your time.
