Subscription outside Apple - App Nebula cancellation problem

Hello. I’ve run into a strange and honestly very frustrating situation with App Nebula.


The subscription wasn’t purchased through the App Store - the payment was made directly on their website, and because of that, canceling it has become practically impossible.

There is no cancellation function inside the app at all, and on their website I keep getting endless page redirects, “special offers,” pop-ups, and retention loops. It genuinely feels like a full quest just to disable auto-payment. There’s no clear button, no simple way to turn it off, and support responses are extremely unhelpful or automated.


My question is:


Is there any way to cancel this through iOS settings if the subscription was not purchased via Apple? Or is the only option really to keep fighting with their website?

shoelvr13 is right, you either need to get the website to stop charging you or you need to report this to your card issue as an unauthorized charge. Once your card company issues you with a new card and cancels the old one, Nebula can no longer charge you. You will then have to contact all other places that may be using that card and update the information.


We are seeing several posts per day about issues with Nebula and it appears to be a problem well avoided.

The problem does not occur from the App in the App Store. Any in-app purchase for a subscription made with the app is managed by Apple and cancelled easily.


The issue is when a person goes to the website and subscribes for the service directly with Nebula. It makes no difference if you download the app or not, you will still have the subscription charge because they gave Nebula the financial info to bill them directly. No app is even needed.


The reason why this is seen so much is because users have found a link that has usually been promoted on Social Media and sometimes website advertisement. It is that person that gets paid to direct them to the website and the platforms they are found on have done very little to prevent this from happening. No one is finding the app in the App Store, then deciding to go to the companies website and sign up for a subscription, they would make an in-app purchase and have no problems at all cancelling.
