MacBook Air stuck in Internet Recovery

MacBook Air turning on Internet Recovery, no startup options for local recovery working, Shift, option, command, R or Option, Command, R or just Command, R are not working, the laptop gets stuck on internet recovery with a frozen globe at 12 seconds, other than that a completely black screen, the laptop is also breathing heavily. This began after another person in my family tried breaking into the laptop because they couldn't get in, so they decided to attempt anything they could and ended up breaking something, I cannot get it now and I'm asking for help. Unsure of the exact model of laptop, it's some form of MacBook air

"Recovery mode does not open, I am unable to open it in anything other than internet recovery mode which doesn't go anywhere"

So, it stalls, correct?

Troubleshooting a Mac Stalled at Boot:

A. If you can’t Get Elsewhere:

It may be an issue with the keyboard.

  1. Go Here: Mac Startup Key Combinations - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: If a key combination doesn't work

Perform a SMC and NVRAM Reset, all 5 Times:

Sometimes changes are made that require in the system caches to be reset. This just might do the trick. So, first attempt this by using your keyboard --if you still perform this reset with the builtin keyboard, try an external keyboard.

Finding the Model:

Obtain the Serial Number, and enter it here: https://checkcoverage.apple.com/

Obtaining the Serial Number while in Recovery Mode:

  1. Go to: Utilities menu (menubar atop the screen)
  2. Select: Terminal
  3. Use: this command: ioreg -l | grep IOPlatformSerialNumber

"There is no menu or anything other than choose network, and once I choose network, it does not go anywhere"

Getting the Keyboard to Work:

A. Try Ethernet:

If you have access to Ethernet, and have not yet tried it, then connect to your modem/router using it, as it would provide a more reliable connection. If you have no Ethernet, then use a USB-C to Ethernet Adapter, such as one: Belkin USB-C to 2.5Gb Ethernet Adapter - Apple

B. Reset your Router:

Power off your router for 30 seconds(by simply unplugging it from the wall), and then power it back on.

C. Try Another Network:

Have access to another network? If so, try using it.

D. Get this Serviced:

If nothing else is of success, then see about getting this serviced.

A. Take to an Apple store:

You'd setup a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store, taking it in for service. There, it will be diagnosed, and you'll be provided with your options.

Or...

B. Take this to an AASP:

See an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area...

Contacting an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone

Getting Internet Recovery to Proceed:

A. Mount the Drive and Volumes:

While in Recovery Mode, see if you need to mount the drives (you'd see the word "mount" on the top-middle-right of the window. If already Mounted, then unmount them, and then mount them.

C. Overheating:

Looking at the storage in Recovery Mode, what do you see for the amount of space remaining? If little or none remains, then expect it the drastically overheat(IOW: "breathing heavily") and lag. Place this atop a laptop cooler, and don't leave it plugged in 100% of the time.
